Victorious Medical Center
The 24 hour clinic is in the compound of Bros' Hotel along the river. They have a pharmacy and laboratory as well as beds. Consultation is around 40 pounds. There are a few beds at around 100 pounds per night which is very good value, given that the nearby Hotels charge three times that for accommodation. They have an ambulance for emergencies. The clinic is clean and efficient, with a Kenyan doctor. If going there ask the taxi for Bro's clinic, the name Victorious is not often used. They have now opened a new branch in Malakia

St Luke's is very near the City Center, on a back street between Sahara Hotel and RA Mango camp. They have a lab, pharmacy, and beds. It offers the best value for money services and is very clean, however they do not have outpatient service at night so ensure you go there in the day. .There are 2 other 'saint Luke's clinics', so make sure its the International.

Juba Teaching Hospital
The Juba Teaching and Referral Hospital is a large government hospital on the main road to Hai Malakal. It was said to have the best facilities and doctors in town. The Private wing has very good self contained rooms. We took a patient there, he had to check out as the Doctor (on phone) advised him to go to Khartoum if he wanted physiotherapy tests and equipment. In addition you may have to wait in a long queue for any service. The wards are basic and the pharmacy has few medicines. The Rotary Club are planning five projects to assist the hospital, Anaesthetic Machine, MCH unit, ICU etc.

Egyptian Clinic
This is near the Sahara Hotel on the road from the Airport into town. It is very popular with the ordinary people as they offer subsidized services paid mostly by the Egyptian Government..

Chinese Hospitals
There are two new Chinese Hospitals opened late 2011 and in 2012. They offer Accupuncture and normal treatment. One small one opposite Home and Away and the other large one at Tong Ping. I will review them later.

Insurance

While there are many insurance companies the industry is not yet fully developed. When I went to one company for third party Motor all the forms were in Arabic and had to be filled in Arabic, so they filled them out for me and I had no idea what they wrote.

UAP Insurance Sudan
UAP systems are all in English. While UAP has its head office in Juba and branches in Wau, Nimule, Yambio and Bentiu, The Group Head Quarters are in Kenya and. their key staff are Kenyan while most of the other staff are Southern Sudanese.
