Eastern Pearl Hotel and Business Center
The three storey structure is open in January 2011 and the 40 rooms are complete. There are many Chinese staff but only the receptionist speaks English. There are also Kenyan, Ugandan and local staff who deal with the guests, so there is a lot of translation. The ground floor will have a shopping arcade, right now one shop is operating and the construction staff are renovating the other. There are two medium sized conference rooms on the second floor. The rooms are large and airy with huge windows overlooking either the main street at the front or the garden at the back. They charge USD 130 for a room but also have suites for double that.
